A FAMILY event featuring music, food and an entertainment village will return to Birkenhead Park later this month. The We Are Wirral event on Saturday, July 18 and Sunday, July 19 will feature a mixture of local talent and famous faces. Hoylake locals The Coral top the bill on the Saturday, while hit noughties rapper Tinie Tempah will close the event on the Sunday. Moreton Community Centre
A group has been set up to help people suffering from C.O.P.D and other lung conditions cope with everyday living, by doing light exercises. Wirral Lung Exercise Group (WLEG) meets every Thursday from 11.30am to 1.30pm at Moreton Community Centre on Maryland Lane in Moreton. Those taking part also have a chance to learn from other members how they cope with their breathing problems. As well as having a good friendly atmosphere, the group serves light refreshments, Which are included in the £2.50 entrance fee. There is also a small raffle to assist with running costs.

May Morris exhibit

the Lady Lever Gallery shines a light
A NEW exhibition at the Lady Lever Gallery shines a light on the 'overlooked legacy' of designer and writer May Morris. On view until November 1, May Morris: Crafting a Legacy celebrates Morris’ role as a creative force in the arts and crafts movement as well as her contributions as a designer, maker, tutor, lecturer, editor and writer. The exhibition will feature around 50 items from museums and private collections across the UK, including embroideries, wallpaper designs, sketches, costumes, jewellery, and books. Part of the 'May Morris: Crafting a Legacy' exhibit at Lady Lever Gallery in Port Sunlight, on until November 1, 2026 (Image: Craig Manning / Newsquest) Highlights include loans from the William Morris Gallery in London, the Victoria and Albert Museum and The William Morris Society, alongside selections from National Museums Liverpool’s own collection. Entry is free, though donations are encouraged to support the gallery’s work and ensure continued free admission.
