Litter pick
19:00
Wirral, UK
A COMMUNITY litter-pick is returning to a Wirral beach next month after the success of last year’s coastal clean-up. Volunteers of all ages are invited to help clear litter along the shoreline of Thurstaston Beach on Sunday, April 19 in an event organised by Wirral-based paving company EcoGrid to mark Earth Day. Organisers are returning after a successful litter-pick last year, encouraging residents to “get out in the fresh air and do some good for our community and planet”. Litter picking kits and hi-vis jackets will be provided so people can simply turn up and get involved. Last year’s event was part of a wider push to improve local beaches, with hundreds taking part in Marine Conservation Society-organised events across Thurstaston, Wallasey and New Brighton over the year. A spokesperson for EcoGrid said: “Following on from the success of last year’s event, the team are heading back to mark Earth Day 2026. “They will be there from 12.30pm onwards for people to join in and help keep the Wirral coastline clean. Volunteers of all ages are welcome – litter picking kits and hi-vis jackets can be provided. “This should be a great event to get out in the fresh air and do some good for our community and planet.” Anyone interested in taking part, can email sales@ecogrid.co.uk for more information or call 0151 639 4281 and ask for Phoebe.
